Laura Eason is the author of 20 plays and several TV scripts. She is originally from Chicago now living in Brooklyn and is a member of Rising Phoenix Rep.
BLOOD STROKES by Daniel Reitz
A play about payback, guilt, and how shame and family secrets manifest themselves. It explores raw ambition and the unwelcome truth that might tear down the façade of Faggot, an in-yer-face queer rock sensation.Daniel Reitz is a playwright and screenwriter. His work has been seen regionally and in Berlin and London and he is a member of Rising Phoenix Rep.
EDIE & ALEXANDER by Megan Mostyn-Brown
A play about a suburban couple who invite a new neighbor over for dinner, with some mystery meat on the menu. Things aren't as picture perfect as they seem in this dark comedy. Megan Mostyn-Brown is a playwright who has been produced across the country, has received an Alfred P. Sloan commission and writes essays on writing and musings on fashion. She is a graduate of Northwestern University.
KILLING FLOOR by Dael Orlandersmith
A short sharp shock of a play in which a father and son circle each other in a cramped kitchenette in Arkansas. Seeking redemption and truth, they will resort to whatever it takes to get it. Dael Orlandersmith is a writer and performer whose work has been seen across the country. She is the recipient of numerous commissions anf awards.
SOLITARY MAN by Keith Reddin
It’s the end of an era, as Jimmy’s (a bar, and the location of the play) has been sold. In its place, a mosque. A comedy about siblings, gentrification, and Neil Diamond. Keith Reddin is a playwright and member of Rising Phoenix Rep whose work has been seen in NYC, regionally and abroad. He has also written for film and television.
SEX AND DEATH IN LONDON by Crystal Skillman
In the South London pub they have broken into during the riots, two girls find themselves confronted by their worst fear as the violence mounts around them: their best friend’s father looking for his missing daughter. Crystal Skillman is a playwright, member of Rising Phoenix Rep and her plays have been produced around the country and in London.
FAVORITES by Charlotte Miller
Favorites is a living, interactive collage of a brother and sister's memories as they clean our their deceased parents' house. Charlotte Miller is a member of Rising Phoenix Rep, a native Texan, a Brooklyn resident and her plays have been seen in NYC and regionally.
CASUAL ENCOUNTERS by Brooke Berman
A play about sex and love in the digital age, and how we play old games using new technologies. Brooke Berman's plays have been produced across the US and in the UK and she is a member of Rising Phoenix Rep. She also writes for TV and film, and her memoir of establishing a life in the arts was published by Random House.
BREAK MY FACE ON YOUR HAND by Daniel Talbott
After flashes of violent bullying, two teenage boys are forced to spend time together after school, in hopes they can somehow understand and accept each other. Daniel Talbott is a playwright, director, actor, producer and the founder of Rising Phoenix Rep. His plays have been performed across the country and abroad. He is a graduate of Julliard and teaches at Primary Stages.
